Dear Friends,
Oh, tasty tasty summer. With your cool late afternoon sunsets, ice-melty August and graceful labor day. How I celebrate you! I am so glad to be back with new energy, new clarity and more awareness.
Yes, awareness. My new bestie. Awareness can make the biggest of the least, the least of the biggest. This pesence has been such a lovely part of my summer. I have also been reminded of the deep importance of mindfulness when it comes to eating. It is increasingly easy to dig into a meal and ignore the presence of a divine power. But the opportunity exists to make every bite of chow a connection to the earth, the growers, the divinity of creativity, the nutrients you are about to assimilate into your body, the healing you are about to encounter, the people with whom you share your meals, or just the luxury of eating in comfort. Many of you know, every dinner I make comes with a blessing. A reminder to be grateful for this wonderful life we live, so much to enjoy, and so much more to go.
If you can, take a moment to say your blessings, pay respect to the earth, and the genius behind turning a seed into a lush plant that sustains the life of humans and animals alike.
With love, respect and other nutrients,
Ella
